Project Overview

In order to save a piece of history, DTE set out to save this historical gem on the corner. This old Cody Drug building sat vacant for almost 20 years before it was purchased and restored by DTE. Since the 2013 restoration, the building has become another landmark on the square. This project led to the DTE rehabilitation of 14 buildings in downtown.

Services

  • Restored historical building on the square of Sulphur springs approximately 4000 square feet originally built in the 1800’s.
  • Install all new underground utilities.
  • Install all new plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and TPO roof to bring building up to code.
  • Installed commercial kitchen and finish out for restaurant use on 1st floor.
  •  Install 3 apartments upstairs.
  •  Featured original brick interior walls.
  •  Install wrought iron balconies with light weigh concrete flooring on two sides of the exterior.
  •  Challenges: keeping the facility in full production during the process, keeping the worksite clean and free from debris inside a food grade facility, maintain safety for plant employees in and around the work areas.
